The Ocean Avenger is the brainchild
of Ocean Machinery, a rapidly growing company in the
steel fabricating landscape. Founded in Fort
Lauderdale in 1989, Ocean Machinery primarily
started life as a dealer in the state of Florida,
quickly establishing itself as the premier one-stop
shop for steel fabricating machinery in Florida.
On a national level, Ocean Machinery
has always been importing and distributing beam
fabricating machinery, and in 2002, sold more beam
lines in the USA than any other manufacturer.
This success prompted
Ocean Machinery
to manufacture its own beam drill line, built to its
own demanding specifications, by
Peddinghaus,
the dominant brand in structural steel fabricating
in the USA.

Hunter Fry is the President and Founder of Ocean
Machinery. Hunter has been in the metal fabricating
industry since 1973. Prior to starting Ocean
Machinery, Hunter worked for major manufacturers of
structural steel fabrication machines. He then
started his own machine tool dealership in Chicago.
Hunter is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma
and the American Graduate School of International
Management. His engineering experience brings
knowledge of production techniques from around the
globe to your shop.
Hunter heads up our Florida, Georgia and Caribbean
Sales Force. |

As the Vice President of Ocean Machinery, Danny
Steyn handles the Marketing of Ocean Machinery, the
introduction of new products, and is responsible for
the extensive Ocean Avenger Dealer Network that
covers the Ocean Avenger Dealer Network that covers
the USA, Canada and Caribbean Islands selling the
Ocean Avenger Beam Drill
Line. Danny is a Mechanical
Engineering Graduate from the University of Natal in
Durban South Africa. Danny has over 20 years of
manufacturing and engineering experience in a wide
range of industries. He has extensive post graduate
training in productivity and efficiency
optimization. |

Our Sales Manager, Darryl Thornhill has an
undergraduate degree in Marketing from Virginia Tech
with a Masters Degree in Business Administration
from Radford University. His previous experience
includes extensive sales and marketing with General
Electric, Tyco International, AT&T Capital and NCR
Corporation, where he excelled in sales and capital
equipment financing of technology hardware, software
and services. Darryl is responsible for the support
of the Ocean Avenger Dealer Network covering the
entire USA selling the
Ocean Avenger Beam Drill
Line. |

Armand Reyes is our Inside Sales Team Champion and
handles our tremendous volume of Internet Sales.
Armand has extensive international and US Sales and
Marketing experience in a broad range of mechanical
and industrial fields, and this knowledge along with
his friendly positive approach makes him a great
asset to Ocean Machinery. Armand is fluent in
Spanish and English and in his spare time umpires
games for a youth baseball league. |

Folker Krebs is another tri-lingual addition to
Ocean Machinery. Fluent in English Spanish and
German, Folker handles our South Florida machinery
sales. A mechanical engineering graduate from
Venezuela, Folker immigrated to the USA in 2004. His
deep experience in the steel fabricating industry as
well as the machinery industry, in all aspects, from
manufacturing, sales, service and support, makes him
very knowledgeable in all aspects of the huge
variety of machines he sells. |

Jeff Sobel is Ocean Machinery's Director of Sales
and Business
Development for Latin America, and is responsible
for the development and support of the Latin America
Ocean Dealer network. Jeff has held numerous roles
in global business development with companies both
large and small. Over the course of his career,
Jeff has travelled extensively through Latin
America, Asia, and Europe. Jeff has an MBA from the
Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale,
Arizona and completed part of his MBA at Brazil's
Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ COPPEAD).
He earned his bachelor's degree in International
Business from Augsburg College in Minneapolis,
Minnesota. Jeff's Portuguese and Spanish language
skills are invaluable to this position. |

Luis Pena is our wonderfully enthusiastic and
competent Service Engineer. Luis previously worked
at HAAS Automation on their full range of CNC
machinery including their latest 5-axis machines.
Luis is fully conversant with both PLC and PC
controlled CNC equipment. Prior to HAAS, Luis was a
project manager at a automated beverage canning and
bottling plant where keeping the machines in perfect
order for the 24 hour 3-shift production was his top
priority. Luis Studied Electronic Engineering at
DeVry University in New Jersey. |

Karen Castorina is our Director of First
Impressions, and is the wonderful helpful voice you
hear when you call our offices. Karen handles all
our Office Management and assists in Internal Sales.
Karen is the glue that holds the company together.

Terry Kuczynski comes to us with many years of
customer service experience and is the new voice you
hear answering your call. She provides Office
Support and assists with sales, quotes, and account
maintenance. Her enthusiasm and customer focus make
a tremendous contribution to our rapidly growing
team. |

Wendy Surgoine is the newest member to our inside
sales department. Wendy joined our administrative
team in 2008 and quickly learned our customer’s need
for tooling and spare parts. Wendy is organized,
resourceful and brings solid experience from the
customer service sector. She is fluent in English,
Spanish and Portuguese, and her interpersonal skills
are a great asset to our team. |
